Product Overview
LIXiSE R449 is a high-performance multi-functional automatic voltage regulator, direct replacement for original Leroy Somer R449 AVR, designed for 50/60Hz brushless diesel generators. It stabilizes generator output voltage by collecting voltage signals, comparing with built-in reference voltage and adjusting DC excitation current. Equipped with abundant jumper switches, multi-group adjustable potentiometers and complete protection circuits, it supports single/three-phase sampling, grid parallel operation, LAM load adjustment and transient voltage compensation, applicable to generator sets ranging from small standby units to 1000kVA large industrial equipment.
Compatible Generator Models
LIXiSE R449 AVR is a professional replacement automatic voltage regulator perfectly tailored for Leroy-Somer (Nidec) LSA series brushless synchronous generators, fully compatible with AREP compound excitation and PMG permanent magnet excitation systems. It covers a wide power range from 25kVA to 1000kVA, serving as an ideal upgrade and replacement part for medium and large industrial generator sets.
1. Original Leroy-Somer / Nidec LSA Series Compatibility
Standard Matching Models: LSA 50.1, LSA 51.2, LSA 52.3
Full Compatible Extended Models: LSA49.1, LSA50.2, LSA53.1, LSA54 full series brushless alternators. For generator sets above 600kVA, disconnect the ST6 jumper to enable transient voltage compensation for more stable high-power operation.
2. Domestic Equivalent Generator Compatibility
This R449 voltage regulator is universally applicable to mainstream domestic generators adopting LSA series technical structure and excitation modes. It perfectly matches brushless alternators from well-known brands including Stamford, Marathon, and Magtec. Note: It only fits units with AREP auxiliary winding excitation or PMG permanent magnet excitation, not suitable for ordinary shunt self-excited generators.
3. Universal Voltage & Frequency Adaptability
Support global mainstream power standards, including 110V, 220V, 380V single-phase and three-phase generator systems. The 50Hz/60Hz frequency can be freely switched via onboard jumper, meeting the power supply demands of different countries and industrial scenarios.

Core Adjustable Configuration
2.1 Jumper Setting Adjustment
(1) ST1: Jumper closed for single-phase voltage sensing; open for three-phase sensing (three-phase sensing module required).
(2) ST2: Response time selection – closed for slow response, open for fast response. Note: Calibration with P3 stability adjustment is mandatory.
(3) ST3: Frequency selection for 50Hz / 60Hz.
(4) ST4: Reserved for external 1KΩ voltage regulator; keep jumper shorted if no external regulator is installed.
(5) ST6: Transient voltage compensation function. Note: Remove the jumper when applied on gensets above 600KVA.
(6) ST7: Keep jumper permanently shorted during operation.
(7) J1: Load Adjustment Module (LAM) enabled when jumper closed; LAM disabled when open. Without LAM, voltage will drop following the V/Hz turning point set by P4 (UFRO).
(8) J2: LAM voltage droop ratio under 220VAC input: Short pin 1-2 for 4.5V/Hz, short pin 2-3 for 6.5V/Hz.
2.2 Potentiometer Adjustment
(1) P1: Droop adjustment (max 7%), used to tune voltage drop ratio caused by reactive power under parallel grid operation.
(2) P2: Main voltage adjustment, sets rated output voltage of generator.
(3) P3: Dynamic stability adjustment.
(4) P4: V/Hz ratio and LAM turning point setup.
(5) P5: Excitation current limit, adjustable range from 3.5A (minimum) to 15A (maximum).
2.3 Terminal Wiring Definition
(1) X1-X2: Auxiliary excitation winding input, single-phase two-wire.
(2) Z1-Z2: Harmonic auxiliary winding input (multiple harmonic detection).
(3) E+: Positive terminal of excitation power output.
(4) E-: Negative terminal of excitation power output.
(5) 0-110: Sensing voltage input for 110VAC system.
(6) 0-220: Sensing voltage input for 220VAC system.
(7) 0-380: Sensing voltage input for 380VAC system.
Important Technical Notes
- For three-phase excitation power input, connect terminals X1, X2 and Z2 as shown in Diagram 3.
- Fuse specification: 15A / 250V slow-blow fuse for circuit overcurrent protection.
- LED indicator stays lit under normal working status. The LED will turn off if auxiliary power supply malfunctions. Under fault condition, rated voltage will drop automatically and voltage regulation function will be invalid.
