1. Product Overview

R438 is a compact, high-performance fully encapsulated automatic voltage regulator applicable to single-phase and three-phase brushless AC generators. Adopting cutting-edge circuit technology and high-efficiency semiconductor components, it realizes miniaturized structural design while maintaining long-term stable and reliable operation.
This AVR adopts closed-loop voltage control by connecting generator main stator winding and field winding. Premium semiconductors built in the power circuit support automatic voltage build-up relying on generator residual magnetism. It achieves ±1.5% load voltage regulation, and ultra-high steady-state precision of ±0.5% under constant-speed operation. Built-in under-speed protection and sensing loss protection effectively avoid generator abnormal voltage runaway and low-frequency damage, guaranteeing safe unattended operation of gensets.

2. Epoxy Resin Encapsulated Rugged Structure

The whole circuit board of R438 is fully sealed with epoxy resin. The integrated encapsulation design delivers strong resistance against severe vibration, dust, moisture, temperature difference and slight corrosion. It works stably in marine, mining, construction and other harsh working environments, reducing failure frequency and extending service life significantly.

3. Expandable Modular Upgrade Function

All R-series AVR models except R230 support matching external expansion modules to meet diversified industrial power supply demands:
  • Equip CT current transformer module for multi-generator parallel operation
  • Install power factor adjustment module for reactive power control
  • Match R726 voltage matching module for genset synchronization
  • Add R731 detection module to realize full three-phase voltage monitoring

4. Wide Excitation Compatibility

R438 perfectly adapts to AREP and PMG excitation systems widely equipped on industrial brushless generators. Its internal precision circuit dynamically adjusts excitation current in real time to stabilize generator output voltage under sudden load increase or decrease.

6. Dual Built-in Safety Protection

    When voltage sampling line breaks or loosens, the protection circuit will avoid dangerous overvoltage output of the generator.
