Product Overview
DSE501K is a key-switch manual engine control module powered by engine battery or low voltage DC supply, compatible with all DC 9V-33V power systems. It realizes full manual engine start and stop via front panel key lock, automatically cutting off engine upon faults and lighting dedicated LED to display the first triggered fault for precise troubleshooting.
3-Position Key Switch Working Modes
The front rotary key switch provides three independent operation modes: OFF, RUN and START.
- OFF: Cuts off DC power to the controller, deactivates all relay outputs and shuts down engine fuel/ignition system.
- RUN: Energizes running relay to activate fuel and ignition circuits, enabling engine standby with temporary alarm delay protection.
- START: Triggers positive starter output; the key automatically springs back to RUN position once released after cranking.
Four Independent Engine Alarm Systems
This controller integrates four core monitoring alarms: low oil pressure, high engine temperature, charging failure, auxiliary overspeed/factory fault input.
- Low oil pressure & high temperature: Controlled by delay timer to avoid false alarms during startup, triggered by negative sensor signals.
- Auxiliary overspeed input: No delay protection, accepts negative signals for overspeed, low fuel level or pre-alarm monitoring.
- First fault lock function: Only the initial fault LED stays lit after shutdown; all alarm outputs remain active until the key is turned to OFF for system reset.
Startup Delay Protection Timer
Alarm detection is temporarily suppressed during cranking to allow the engine to build normal oil pressure and stable operating conditions. All temperature and oil pressure alarms only activate after timer countdown, while overspeed protection works without delay at all times.
Optional Overspeed Trip Module
An extra PCB board can be fitted to enable full overspeed shutdown function. It monitors engine speed via generator frequency (50/60Hz) or magnetic pickup sensor, with adjustable trip range covering 90%-130% of rated engine speed. Once exceeding preset speed, the controller immediately cuts engine running relay to stop operation.
Application
Widely used for small-medium standalone diesel generator sets, construction machinery engines and simple industrial power units requiring basic manual key operation and reliable safety protection.
